Adele and Other Musicians Aren’t Happy Donald Trump is Using Their Music

Seem like the number of musicians who don’t want to be associated with the controversial presidential candidate Donald Trump keeps growing.

 

 

Recently Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler ordered his attorney to send a cease-and-desist letter to Trump’s campaign saying that Trump does “not have our client’s permission to use ‘Dream On'” as the use of the song “gives the false impression that he is connected with or endorses Mr. Trump’s presidential bid.”

 

 

Michael Stipe’s appeal to Trump concerning the usage of the famous band’s hit song “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” as walk-on music for his anti-Iran deal speech was even more personal. REM’s frontman, via the Twitter account of the band’s bassist Mike Mills, called Trump and other candidates: “sad, attention-grabbing, power-hungry little men” and demanded that they not use their music or his voice “for your moronic charade of a campaign”.

It wasn’t a surprise to hear that Adele is also not happy that Trump is using “Rolling in the Deep” and Oscar-winning “Skyfall” tracks for his presidential campaign. On Monday Adele spokesperson Benny Tarantini told CNN, “Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning”. However when asked if Adele was requesting to stop using her music at rallies, Tarantini said “we have no further comment.”

 

 

Whether it was the main reason for Trump’s last-minute collapse or not, he suffered a considerable decline after this incident. After being broadly considered the favourite to win, Trump ended up losing to Ted Cruz. He barely beat Marco Rubio for second place.
