8 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT 8

Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come. Ocean’s 8 is out and I can honestly say, without exaggerating, that so far this is my favorite movie of the year. I mean, it was clear from the premise that it was gonna be awesome. Once we got a teaser trailer that just became obvious. But once you actually see this movie, you’ll be truly amazed. However, we don’t want to spoil anything for you just yet, so here’s 8 spoiler free things you need to know about Ocean’s 8.

 

 

1.The Cast Is Bomb
The cast of this movie is just spectacular. Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Aquafina… all these incredible women in one heist movie. What else could you possibly ask for?

 

 

2.The Story
A lot of people were wondering if this is a prequel to Ocean’s 9/10/11, or a sequel? Is it a remake? A parody? How does this movie fit into the narrative of that franchise? It’s neither one of those. Sandra Bullock says: “It’s a parallel story of another family member that was raised in the same family Danny Ocean was and what happens when Debbie steps out of jail with all of these amazing, powerful women.”

 

3.There Are So Many Celebs In It
Expect a LOT of cameos from various celebs in this movie, including the Kardashians, James Corden, Anna Wintour, Gigi Hadid and so many others. I mean, seriously, the amount of familiar faces in this movie is off the charts.

 

4.The Outfits Are On Point
The movie is centered around the Met Gala so expect a lot of incredible dresses and looks. I mean, the fashionistas will be drooling over the costumes in this movie. So many cool designer outfits by Prada, Stella McCartney, Burberry and so many more. There’s something for everyone, since there’s so many characters and all of them have their own style. It’s basically going to be the most stylish Ocean’s movie to date.

 

 

5.Directed by Gary Ross
If you’re not a film buff and don’t know what’s the significance of that, Gary Ross also directed the Hunger Games. So you know, he’ll make us proud once again with all the boss women being so freaking cool.

 

6.It’s Sandra Bullock’s Dream
Sandra Bullock always wanted there to be in a movie like Ocean’s 11 but with girls, and she finally made it happen. She’s basically the driving force behind the idea for this movie and all she basically didn’t care who she’ll be in this movie with as long as the ladies are all lovers of women. Basically, thank Sandra Bullock for making this little feminist dream we didn’t know we had come true.

 

7.Mindy Kaling Predicted It
Mindy Kaling always wanted to be in a movie like this. She even wrote about it years ago in her book “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?”. She mentioned there that she would love to make a movie called Ocean’s 5 and it would be an all-female cast. She got even more than she was hoping for with this movie.

 

8.The Text Chain
Apparently all the ladies of the movie became very good friends on the set and even created a text chain to keep in touch. Wouldn’t it be a dream to be part of that text chain? Well, unfortunately the more people found out about it, the more they started worrying about being hacked, so they deleted it.
