Often, the dazzling romance of becoming a star in Hollywood is provoked by the promis-es of realizing that rags to riches story; that of the waitress at the diner becoming Ameri-ca’s sweetheart and having a lucrative income. But for some of our favorite stars, they’ve always had the riches part down. Here are celebrities who had whopping amounts of family money before entering the spotlight in Hollywood.

 

 

1. Julia Dreyfus-Louis
Remember the homely but cute Eileen on Seinfeld? Well, she’s actually a billionaire. Her dad Gerard has a net worth of $3.4 billion, to be specific. She’s an heiress thanks to her great-great grandfather Leopold Dreyfus who founded Dreyfus Energy Services in the 1800’s. Lucky gal – if “Seinfeld” didn’t work out, we think she’d be just fine.

 

 

2. Anderson Cooper
Anderson Cooper is a real one, but he’s always kind of had that waspy look, let’s be real. His mother is Gloria Vanderbilt, and she was the only child of the railroad heir Reginald Claypoole Vanderbilt. The journalist’s family created a railroad empire, making them one of the first millionaires ever in America. Now that’s some old money.

3. Jake & Maggie Gyllenhaal’s
Their parents are Stephen Gyllenhaal, a film director, and their mother is an Oscar-nominated screenwriter. Guess when the blood runs deep in Hollywood, the money does too! Oh, they also have family money because they descend from the Swedish noble Gyllenhaal family. Talk about luck in your bloodline!

 

 

4. Armie Hammer
You might recognize Armie from “The Social Network” or “The Man From U.N.C.L.E”, but his family name had prominence before he was in Hollywood. His father Michael Armand Hammer owns a few businesses, and their family owned the company Occidental Petro-leum. This guy is gorgeous, charming, and has family money, besides his own claim to fame! Where do we sign up?

5. Alison Williams
Many of the actresses in “Girls” had families of impressive origins, and Alison’s family is no different. Her last name might ring a bell due to her father Brian Williams, the famous NBC news anchor. Brian Williams came under fire for some not so positive stuff recently, but Alison still roots for her dad.

 

 

6. Rooney & Kate Mara
Rooney and her sister Kate Mara have been in a number of Hollywood productions, but their wealth is of a pretty impressive magnitude. As in, each of their parents owns a foot-ball team. Their dad’s family founded the New York Giants, while their mom’s founded the Pittsburgh Steelers. We can’t even imagine what family dinners are like, or the stuff these two grew up with.

7. Taylor Swift
You might have thought Taylor came from some humble farm beginnings per her inno-cent country girl music videos starting out, but don’t let that fool you. Her dad Scott is a successful financial adviser at Merrill Lynch and her mom Andrea is a mutual fund mar-keting exec. Her family owned an 11-acre Christmas tree farm that Taylor grew up on, and her dad invested in her current record label, Big Machine Records. Hm.

 

 

8. Carly Simon
The “You’re So Vain” singer should have made a follow-up track called “I’m So Rich”, since her dad Richard L. Simon just happened to be the founder of the massive publish-ing house Simon & Schuster. Well, at least if her music career didn’t pan out, she would have had a future in the literary world!

9. Jordin Sparks
You might have thought that Jordin’s claim to fame was “American Idol”, but her dad is actually a famous ex athlete. To be specific, her dad was former New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys player Phillippi Sparks. We feel like if she didn’t win the show in 2007, her dad would have bought her something nice and expensive to cheer her up!

 

 

10. Rashida Jones
Not only is Rashida beautiful and hilarious on “Parks and Recreation”, but her parents are loaded! Her mom Peggy Lipton was on The Mod Squad back in the day, and her dad was record mogul Quincy Jones, who carries a whopping net worth of $310 million. Well, guess the draw to being an actress didn’t have to do with the promises of financial suc-cess.

11. Robin Thicke
Robin Thicke is famous for his singing and creepily trying to get Paula Patton back, but he’s more than that! He’s the son of some famous actors that might sound familiar to you; his dad was “Growing Pains” actor Alan Thicke, and his mom Gloria Loring was on “Days Of Our Lives”.
