Summer is the time of short dresses, crop tops, shorts and obviously swimsuits. We want to look good and feel good. The problem is – we tend to not be very hungry when it’s hot outside, so instead of having full meals we tend to snack on all sorts of cold treats like ice-cream, frozen yoghurt, slushies, etc. And while those things are yummy, they aren’t exactly a healthy and nutritious meal that our body needs. In fact these types of things tend to cause a lot of bloating and water retention, and who wants that? So instead we offer you a selection of delicious summer salads that will satisfy your hunger without causing any problems. They’re light, they’re filling, and they’re good for you, so take a look.

1. Strawberry Cobb Salad
This twist on a classic Cobb salad is everything you need this summer. It’s got fruits, veggies and protein to satisfy all your body’s needs. It’s flavorful, refreshing and will keep you full for hours. Who knew adding strawberries could transform a salad so much, am I right?

2. Tomato Mozzarella Salad
This is a true summer classic. Fresh tomatoes and basil, delicious mozzarella and a hint of sweetness from the reduced balsamic dressing make this salad a crowd’s favorite. Speaking of the dressing, check out the recipe above, because that’s what makes this salad special.

3. Grilled Tropical Summer Salad
We strongly believe that summer salads should have a hint of sweetness in them and this salad definitely fits this requirement. Grilled pineapple, mango, cherry tomatoes and lots of salad greens, drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette and sprinkles with some macadamia nuts are a great flavor combo.

4. Fiesta Grilled Shrimps And Corn Salad
This salad is not only very colorful, but also incredibly yummy and nutritious. Black beans and shrimps provide more than enough proteins, cherry tomatoes and romaine lettuce adds a little fresh crunch, the corn adds a bit of sweetness and avocado provides healthy fats. It even includes a little tequila to cook the shrimp. Intrigued? Check the recipe above.

5. Watermelon Feta Salad
Is it just me or does everyone live on watermelon in the summer? If you love watermelon, you will love this salad. Fresh salad greens, sweet watermelon and fresh berries like blueberries, raspberries and blackberries go perfectly together. The crumbled feta adds some yummy proteins and the dressing ties all the flavors together.

6. Mandarin Orange Spinach Salad
Don’t worry, this salad isn’t just mandarins and spinach. It also includes grilled chicken, red bell pepper, snow peas, carrots and sliced almonds. It’s the perfect crunchy salad for summer. The lemon honey ginger dressing is to kill for. Seriously, you need to try it once and you’ll want it on all your salads.

7. Cherry Plum and Goat Cheese Summer Salad
The combination of sweet cherry plums, grape tomatoes, crumbled goat cheese, some spinach and arugula and quinoa is a heavenly treat on a summer day. You can use olive oil and some lemon juice for dressing, or pick a salad dressing of your choice. This salad only takes a couple of minutes to make and it’s gluten free and vegetarian. It’s a win-win!

8. Triple Berry Kale Salad
This healthy and light salad is full of vitamins and nutrients your body craves in the summer. If you’re not a huge fan of kale, you haven’t tried this salad yet. You’ll love it once you try it with blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and crunchy sliced almonds. What’s even better is the poppyseed dressing made with Greek yogurt, strawberries, poppyseed and a couple of other ingredients.

9. Peach Salad With Grilled Basil Chicken
Who doesn’t love peaches in their salad, am I right? Then again I’d have peaches on everything. But in this salad especially, combined with grilled chicken, corn, goat cheese, pecans, and red onions it’s simply the best. Drizzled over with white balsamic-honey vinaigrette this salad is just heavenly.

10. Grilled Halloumi And Peach Salad
If you liked the previous salad but you’re vegetarian this one is the perfect choice for you. It’s got grilled Halloumi, asparagus, mixed greens, pine nuts and of course peaches. The homemade lemon pesto dressing is a treat too.
