7 Pinoy look-alikes of famous tourist attractions around the world

Do you ever find yourself half a world across from your country, yet everything around you seems surprisingly familiar? Probably not. That’s very rare. In most cases, when you travel across the world everything looks new, exciting and foreign. Sometimes you even wish you saw something familiar. Well, either way, what you’re about to see in this article will be both surprising and familiar at the same time.

 

 

1.The Grand Canal
Have you ever felt like you’re in Venice, even though you’re in the Philippines? That’s probably because you haven’t been to the Venice Grand Canal Mall in Taguig City. This man made canal and buildings around it were modeled to look like a real Venetian street canal. In fact, a lot of the buildings are exact replicas of the ones in Venice, Italy. So if you don’t want to or just can’t go to Italy, but would like to enjoy the Venice atmosphere for a little while, why not visit the Venice Grand Canal Mall, located at the McKinley Hills in Taguig City. Plus, since it’s a shopping mall, you’re bound to buy a couple of new outfits for yourself. It’ll be like shopping in Italy, well, almost. *wink wink*

2. Huge Statue Of Jesus
Have you ever been to Brazil? If your answer is yes, then you’ve most likely been to Rio de Janeiro and seen the huge statue of Christ the Redeemer. It’s a world-known tourist spot, especially for religious people. Did you know that the Philippines had their own version of it? It’s called The Risen Christ and it’s located in Tarlac. It’s a bit smaller than the original, but no one will be able to tell from the picture. And this one is located next to the Monasterio de Tarlac, so you’ll be killing two birds with one stone.

3. Safari
If you love animals and would like to see them in the wild – going on a safari is the best choice for you. You’re already thinking of Africa, aren’t you? Well, not so fast my friend. You don’t actually have to go to Africa, there’s an amazing safari park in the Philippines. The Calauit Safari Park in Palawan is a great spot for those who want to see wild animals freely walking around. Granget, the variety of animals here isn’t as huge as it is in Africa, but you’ll guaranteed to see zebras, giraffes and Calamian deer at the fraction of the price you’d pay to go to Africa. Wild animals are still an incredible sight to witness, no matter what part of the world you do it at.

4.Stunning Beaches And Nature
Speaking of Palawan, there’s more to it than just a safari park. If you want to see some truly mesmerizing beaches and cliffs and just enjoy gorgeous island sights – El Nido is the place to go to. If you want to truly feel relaxed while enjoying a beautiful view of sandy beaches, emerald water surrounded by limestone cliffs this is the perfect destination for you. El Nido is often compared to Halong Bay in Vietnam, and you’ve got to agree, both of these tourist destinations look very similar and both are equally beautiful.

5.Gorgeous Waterfalls
While we’re on the subject of natural wonders and the beauty of nature, it feels right to mention waterfalls. There’s a lot of hype about the Niagara Falls, and rightly so, those waterfalls are incredible. However, we feel like Tinuy-An Falls also deserves to be mentioned. They’re equally stunning. Tinuy-An falls have often been called “the Niagara Falls of the Philippines”. These waterfalls consist of three cascading falls, much like the Niagara Falls along the U.S.-Canadian border, and they’re 95 meters wide. It’s truly an amazing sight to see, especially if you manage to get there between 9AM and 11AM, when a gorgeous rainbow can be seen over the Tinuy-An Falls.

 

 

6. Beautiful Flowers
The Netherlands are known for their incredible flower exhibitions. You might’ve heard about Keukenhof, which is a huge flower park in the Netherlands. It opened all the way back in the 1950’s and still remains incredibly popular, with millions of tourists visiting this place every year. The Philippines have their own beautiful flower park too. Sirao Flower Farm, also known as the “Little Amsterdam of Cebu”, located in Cebu City, has become a huge tourist attraction. It’s been receiving quite a lot of attention online, since the first pictures from this park have been posted on social media.

7. Incredible Resorts
What place will you think of once we mention incredible views of the sea, beautiful sunsets and pristine white houses? Most people will think of Greece, or to be more precise – Santorini. Well, guess what? The Philippines have the same things to offer. Camp Netanya in Batangas is Philippines’ own little island paradise.
