Exercising can feel like a drag, but it’s something that we need to fit into our schedules as responsible adults. But who says that you have to feel like a grown up when you’re working out? Ditch the gym and go with one of these exciting and different workouts instead.

 

 

1. Hiking
Going for a hike can get your heart pumping, and you’ll be so taken by the beautiful scenery that you won’t even notice that you’re breaking a sweat. A hike makes you feel like you accomplished something, and you get to breathe in nature to center your mind as well.

2. Dance Class, Or Just A Night Out Dancing!
Why go to the gym when you could be shaking your hips and feeling sexy while you burn calories? Take an evening time hip hop or jazz class, or go out with your girls and spend hours on the dance floor. It’s a great way to stay fit, and so much fun.

3. Bike Around A New Part Of Town
Biking is awesome when it’s nice out – the wind in your hair and your ability to zip from one end of the city to the other – you can easily fit in a powerful workout, and for you it’ll just be an invigorating cycle! Bonus: it’ll save you cash on transportation!

4. Take A Boxing Class
Boxing can make you feel like a fierce warrior woman, and it can pack a punch with calorie burning and chisel your bod too! Learn some cool self defense moves and keep trim while doing it!

5. Play Some Wii Sports
Who knew that video games could count as working out? Play everything from volleyball to bowling! You can do it by yourself or with a teammate – socializing while you work out doesn’t sound too shabby to us! Cheaper than going bowling in real life!

6. Go Rock Climbing
If nature isn’t your thing, you can always take this activity indoors, but outdoor breathtaking sounds pretty badass. Take in the scenery as you conquer a mountain or a terrain of your choice!

7. Do Some Intensive Housecleaning
Housecleaning can actually really break a sweat – try a different activity for an hour every night. Vacuuming on Mondays, mopping on Tuesdays, and wipe-downs on Wednesday! Or spend a full Saturday going at it, for a hardcore workout and a sparkling house.

8. Take A Woodworking Or Metalworking Workshop
Who says building stuff and woodworking is just for the boys? Build yourself a new side table with the activity that will not only teach you a new skill, but twiddle away at your waistline. Ladies can be lumbersexuals too!

9. Have Sex- Lazy Positions Don’t Count
Getting freaky is always bound to be some ideal cardio – and debatably the best method out there. But lying on your side and having lazy morning sex won’t do much – get a little creative with those positions, and engage your core and other muscles for an unforgettable romp, and a workout!

10. Go For A Swim
Swimming is one of the best workouts to strengthen your body, and it’s perfect for when you’re on vacation or at the pool. Neither of those feel like workouts to us! Since when is basking in the Mexican sun while doing a few laps something that we’d groan about?

11. Work Out In A Playground Or Buy A Trampoline
Exercising in a play ground is the prefect way to channel your inner kid – monkey bars are awesome for your lower body, swinging can engage your lower core, and climbing around all the playground equipment also works up a sweat. If it’s not your thing, you can always buy a trampoline and bounce to your heart’s desire in the privacy of your own home.

12. Rearrange Furniture In Your House
For better Feng Shui in your home and a freshened up look, move the furniture around in your house to get your blood pumping! Moving around heavy pieces of wood and sofas will definitely tire you out, and you get some interior design done in the process.
